Handy command huh…

lets start with basics and critical command first:

1. SSH  youruser@yourwebsite.com 

 The greatest and easy way to control and develop your web server from remote/local

2. FTP youruser@yourwebsite.com

Might not be as easy as GUI FTP clients like cyber duck or Transmit, but it never crashes, it’s free, and it’s on every Mac OS X machine.

3. curl -o filename.ext http://yourwebsite.com/path/to/filename.ext 

When installing downloadable software on a remote server or locally and forget head ache for  ’download-to-workstation-and-upload-to-server’.

4. scp /file/on/local/machine /location/on/remote/machine

secure copy is great when you need to move a few files and know exactly where they are going

5. tail -f /var/log/httpd/access_log

watch whos at your site in real time or

tail -f /var/log/httpd/error_log

see your errors in real time

Sudah menjadi cerita lama bahwa internet explorer adalah sebuah nightmare bagi web designer karena kenakalan microsoft dalam merender tag-tag HTML dan  standart web site w3c.org serta dominasi sistem operasi Windows dan internet explorer-nya. Sekarang artist visual yang berbasiskan Mac OS X bisa lebih mudah dan cepat mengetes hasil designnya dan menghack bug dan limitasi dari Internet Explorer, terutama IE6 yang tidak mendukung format PNG.

Menginstall Internet Explorer dapat menggunakan banyak jalur, bisa dengan menginstall sistem operasi windows-nya sekalian via Bootcamp atau virtualisasi semacam Parallels dan Vmware Fusion, atau menggunakan emulator seperti Crossover. Jika anda ingin menginstallnya secara native, anda dapat menggunakan ie4osx yang diportkan oleh Mike Kronenberg dari ie4linux.

Langkah-langkahnya sebagai berikut :

1. Utuk pemilik Mac OS X Tiger harus menginstall X11 terlebih dahulu, bisa di ambil DVD installer-nya. Mac OS X Leopard sudah datang dengan preinstaled X11 jadi bisa langsung ke step 2.
2. Download dan drag darwin ke folder applications



3. Download dan drag ie4osx.app ke applications folder



4. install ie4osx dengan mengkliknya, selama instalasi ie4osx akan mendownload semua komponen yang diperlukan termasuk  internet explorer dari microsoft langsung. lama installasi akan bergantung koneksi internet anda, sisi baiknya anda bisa  menyiapkan kopi torabika kesukaan anda sambil menunggu instalasi seleai  
5. Cek applications folder anda, jika instalasi berjalan baik, maka seharusnya file applications internet explorer sudah terinstall di sana.

Yang paling penting adalah IE akan merender selayaknya di windows, kecuali font-nya akan menggunakan font yang terinstall pada Mac OS X anda, dan cara ini lebih sedikit memakan memori daripada menggunakan virtualisasi atau memakai emulator Croosover. Saya sudah mencobanya untuk merender CSS dan tag html untuk design template baru saya, dan berjalan sangat baik
